Jessie’s House could not survive without support from the community. State funding has failed to keep pace with dramatic increases in our costs for heating, electricity and many other operating costs. Also, the state does not reimburse Jessie’s House for any of the services we provide to families who have moved out of shelter. We believe it is critical to continue to support these families so they continue to build positive living environments.

The Jessie’s House Alternative Giving Program is a perfect way to honor your loved ones for Thanksgiving. Before you send another fall bouquet or houseplant, think about giving a more meaningful gift. Alternative giving is an ideal way of honoring a loved one, friend or business colleague by giving a gift to a charity in his or her name.

As a result of your gift to the charity:
• The charity provides you with a lovely gift card to give to the person you’re honoring, who is happy to know a charitable donation has been made in his/her name,
• Your gift is tax deductible, which it wouldn’t be if you just did the usual sort of gift giving, and
• The charity enjoys much-needed financial aide. In short, it’s a win-win-win!
Few charities are more appropriate than Jessie’s House as a place for alternative giving in honor of family members. After all, we’re all about helping moms and dads and children.
