Each year, CHD's Through Her Eyes conference focuses on the most current methods and practices for dealing with girls facing challenges at home, in school, and in society, from trauma and neglect to aggression and addiction. The conference features eight to 10 workshops run by notable professionals whose presentations are aimed at people who engage directly with girls and young women, including educators, social workers, direct care staff, family members, and concerned citizens.

CHD organizes flag-raising celebrations in communities in Hampden and Hampshire counties recognizing April as Child Abuse Prevention Month. These events bring together dozens of human and social services agencies united in the common cause of protecting children from abuse and neglect.

In 2012, the main flag-raising event was held  April 11th in Springfield, on the steps of Springfield City Hall.
