The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County 2012 Masquerade Bowl for Kids’ Sake on Saturday and Sunday, March 3rd and 4th was a huge success.

More than 400 people wearing eye masks, Mardi Gras beads and even some costumes had a great time bowling while supporting mentoring for youth in Hampshire County. Teams of bowlers included teachers from the Amherst/Pelham School District, hundreds of students from UMass and Amherst College, the District Attorney's office, and many local businesses.  This 17th annual Bowlathon was the most successful to date, exceeding our fundraising goal by raising over $65,000. 

We are also extremely grateful to the 140 local business sponsors who together contributed more than $27,000 before anyone even picked up a bowling ball.  Special thanks to our major sponsors - Lia Auto Group, Bueno Y Sano, Northampton Cooperative Bank, Borawski Insurance, Finck and Perras Insurance, King and Cushman Insurance, Easthampton Savings Bank, Applied Mortgage Services, Alternative Recycling Systems, SHR Trust, and The Lodging Kit Company.  

What a great weekend with a wonderful outpouring of community support for our local children!!!
