Diversity Statement

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County takes an affirming, positive stance with respect to Program participants.

In selecting volunteers and children, the Program does not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, language, culture, sexual orientation, religion, gender, socioeconomic status, or educational attainment.

These factors are considered irrelevant in terms of volunteers' ability to nurture, care for, support and develop healthy friendships with children participating in the program.

With the exception of youth volunteers in the Williston Northampton School/ Big Brothers Big Sisters Partnership, volunteers must be at least 18 years of age or older, although beyond this restriction, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County does not discriminate based on age.
