How To Donate
Thank you for your interest in making a charitable contribution to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County. The program depends upon the generosity of our community to help us make a difference in the lives of the children of Hampshire County.  With your support, we will reach many more children and change lives.  Your donation will help fund the recruitment, screening and training of our volunteer mentors, the matching of children in need of a caring adult, and ongoing support of the matches. Our program is volunteer and donor driven and we strive to provide safe and mutually rewarding mentoring relationships for our youth and volunteers. The gifts of time from our mentors and funds from our donors come together to dramatically transform the lives of our children.

How You Can Make Your Gift

Stocks/Securities No matter what tax bracket you are in, making gifts with appreciated stock makes sense. Tax benefits for the donor who has owned appreciated stock for more than one year are two-fold: capital gains tax is avoided upon transfer to BBBS and the donor can receive an income tax charitable deduction for the full market value of the stock on the date of the gift. Depending on your tax bracket and the size of the gift, there may be an opportunity to carry over the charitable income tax deduction over several years. Deferred Gift A deferred gift will allow a donor to make a planned gift to BBBS over a period of years or as part of estate plans. Properly designed, it can generate a charitable income tax deduction. It can be designated for a specific purpose or provide unrestricted support for BBBS's mission-directed activities. These gifts are made in the form of trusts, bequests or endowments. Give the Gift of Time It only takes a little time to make a big difference in the life of a child. Become a Big Brother or Big Sister. With only 3 to 5 hours a week to share, you can enrich your own life while having a wonderful positive influence on a child from your community. Tickets or Passes Consider donating tickets or passes to local sporting events or cultural events. The Bigs and Littles are always looking for low cost or free opportunities to enjoy the richness of the community we live in.

Office Equipment/ Services These gifts which save us time, effort or expense all effect the bottom line and therefore help us to continue to match children with caring adult volunteers.
